About the Innovation Platform

Many of us at the Innovation Platform work, or have worked, in either health or dental care in Region Västra Götaland. With our understanding of how the healthcare system works, our knowledge of the innovation process, and our extensive network of contacts, we can provide the best possible support. Examples of areas where we can provide guidance include:

Support for academia and industry

Collaboration between healthcare, academia and the Life Science sector is important to increase the number of value-creating innovations. The Innovation Platform has a knowledge of the needs of healthcare in Region Västra Götaland and understands the driving forces of industry and academia.

Our aim is to contribute to the development of more innovations based on real needs in healthcare.

Here are some examples of our services for academia and industry:

• Needs study/assessment, which contributes to better insight into the product/service users in healthcare
• Matching of clinical departments with companies and/or academia based on their common needs
• Project coordination and resource monitoring
• Testing and simulation in clinical environments

Grants Office

Do you want to apply for funding from external financiers for an innovation project as a healthcare employee in Region Västra Götaland? Then you can contact our Grants Office for guidance and support during the application process and for advice during the project.
Through our Grants Office, we help with the formulation of applications and give advice on collaborations, project administration and accounting. Other important issues that can be handled by the Grants Office include the legal framework for healthcare in collaborative projects with external partners, as well as procurement, budget and accounting issues.

Applicants for external funding are either the principal investigator of an innovation project or part of a collaborative innovation project. To receive support from Grants Office for your application you need to be employed in healthcare within Region Västra Götaland.
